Individual counties coloured-in by me.

Description:

Counties of Romania. One-sided cards for now (name -> location). Hopefully I'll have time to do the other side (location -> name) some time in the future. The cards use the "answerbox:overlay" feature.

Judete ale Romaniei. Cartile au o singura fata (nume -> locatie). Sper sa pot face si cealalta fata (locatie -> nume) candva. Cartile folosesc abilitatea "answerbox:overlay".

Central America map, from a slightly modified map from Wikipedia.

Cards generated with the amazing svgtoquiz.

Description:

Although the otherwise excellent "Americas" deck includes Central America, I found the Central American countries too small to discern easily. This deck is probably best imported into that larger Americas deck, or some other sizable geography deck.

Did not use Timothy's map quiz script, but I did model my finished product after what his script produces.

Description:

Quizzes the eight provinces, three special administrative regions, and one directly-governed city of North Korea.

All spellings are in the Revised Romanization of Korean:

--Installation Instructions--
-----------------------------

1. Make sure you have Mnemosyne installed: http://www.mnemosyne-proj.org/index.php

2. Unzip the contents of this archive to your ".mnemosyne" directory. On my Windows 7 installation, that directory is in this location... C:\Users\(my username)\.mnemosyne\

3. Make sure that you uncompressed the archive correctly by ensuring that the image files end up located in your ".mnemosyne\maps\Divisions of North Korea\" directory.

4. Load up Mnemosyne and go to File > Import. Toggle the "File format" dropdown box to "XML". Then hit "Browse" and navigate to your ".mnemosyne\maps\Divisions of North Korea\" directory and choose "North Korea.xml" as the file to import.

5. Click "OK"

I have tested this with Mnemosyne version 1.1.1 and it worked just fine; however, if you encounter any problems, don't hesitate to e-mail me. My contact information may be found in the readme file of the archive.

Maps generated with the tools pscoast and psxy (generic mapping tools).
The geodata came from data provided with the generic mapping tools and
from Wikipedia.
I, the copyright holder of this work, hereby release all maps provided
with this card set into the public domain.

Description:

This set of cards contains most of the capital cities of europe.
Names in english, german and spanish, the overlay version also
supports italian and greek names.

Changes:
2009/02/11
- Reduced size of zip-archive
- Put maps in a subfolder 'european_capitals'
- Changed the category name to 'European Capitals'
- Added missing capital cities
2009/04/16
- Reduced size of zip-archive - thanks to Tim Bourke for reducing the image's size
- Removed the .svn subdirectory - again thanks to Tim Bourke for pointing that out
2009/07/27
- Added a second zip-archive with gwern's version of the set. It uses the
overlay feature and the images are in a directory called 'maps' instead of 'images'.
For most users this version should be more convenient.
2010/09/10 - Some changes on the overlay version of the set
(the second zip archive)
- Changed directory structure. Just extracting the zip archive
into the folder where your .mem file is and importing the
european_capitals.xml should work now.
- Italian and greek names, provided by harrykar added. I didn't
revise them, though.

Wikipedia's SVG map, edited in Inkscape.

Description:

This is a collection of all the countries recognized by the UN as being located in Asia (plus Papua New Guinea), made properly with none of that "This red bit and the bits south of it" or "What's this strange little island in the Arctic Sea you can't even see on the map?" garbage.

To use, unzip the file into your .mnemosyne directory, and import the .mnemosyne/Asia.xml into your installation.

On Jan 2, 2009 I fixed 3 things that was noticed by "sempteen":
- Hongkong -> is now Hong Kong
- Palestina -> is now Palestine (the last letter is "e")
- Turkmenistan map is now correct, it used to show the same land as Uzbekistan.
