FE Exam (Engineering) Reference Manual

Description:

This collection of cards covers the first two years of undergraduate mathematics, in mnemosyne XML format. It requires LATEX or compatible, I used http://miktex.org/ because it is free.

The source is PART 1 of the FE Exam (Engineering) Reference manual, which is a concise review of the formulas and concepts needed to become an Engineer-in-Training in the United States. I will be adding more sections in the future covering all aspects of engineering.

The collection is broken up into sections by category, which are:

Area and Volume
Centroids and Moments of Inertia
Complex Numbers
Conic Sections
Differential Calculus
Differential Equations
Euler
Logarithms
Matrices
Numerical Methods
Polar Coordinates
Progressions and Series
Quadratics
Straight Line
Trigonometry
Vectors

I have split up the categories so that they can be activated in Mnemosyne as desired.
Some cards are vice-versa, some not, as I have deemed appropriate.

I welcome criticism and suggestions on all aspects of the collection, including content included, formatting, spelling, mathematical or other errors, etc. You may contact me on my email account, which is moc.liamg@epancm (but you'll have to reverse it!).

version 1.5

** Make a directory named 'ENGR' in .mnemosyne and put the .jpg files there. The picture paths in the xml files are relative to .mnemosyne, and point to files in ENGR. Or, you can edit the xml directly with a text editor, doing a find and replace operation on the file paths to make them point to wherever you would like to put the pictures. **

How do I import these into memosyne?

Which grades does this cover?

Which grades are undergraduate years 1 and 2? I don't live in the United States. I live in Quebec (Canada) and here, we have CEGEPS (college) in between high school and university. Is this grade 12 stuff? Grade 11-12? Grade 12-13? Details would be good to have.

Thanks!

Which grades does this cover - USA

I don't know which grades this covers in Canada, but in the USA the Calculus topics are typically learned by 13th and 14th grades. Some advanced 12th graders learn them as well.

The rest are typically learned in 9th - 12th grades but not in this much detail, nor are they typically memorized. :)

File--->Import

@devilhog: File--->Import. Import XML.

Missing .jpegs?

@Peter McNabb: Some cards need a .jpeg to show. Don't you need to upload the .jpegs too?

Missing .jpegs

Sorry about that! I have uploaded them now. You will have to modify the .xml to point to the directory where you wish to store the .jpegs.
