Description: 

This is a collection of all the countries recognized by the UN as being located in Asia (plus Papua New Guinea), made properly with none of that "This red bit and the bits south of it" or "What's this strange little island in the Arctic Sea you can't even see on the map?" garbage.

To use, unzip the file into your .mnemosyne directory, and import the .mnemosyne/Asia.xml into your installation.

On Jan 2, 2009 I fixed 3 things that was noticed by "sempteen":
- Hongkong -> is now Hong Kong
- Palestina -> is now Palestine (the last letter is "e")
- Turkmenistan map is now correct, it used to show the same land as Uzbekistan.

Singapore Image Size

Please consider enlarging the provided Singapore image. I currently can't see it. Wikipedia has a larger picture here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:LocationSingapore2.png Otherwise, thanks for the cards! They're great!

Hong Kong - beware

The Chinese island of Hainan is wrongly displayed as Hong Kong.

That looks very well-made. Did you do all of that editing manually, or is there a script that you used? The inset enlarged maps with the drop-shadows are especially attractive.

I'm sorry you did not find my earlier effort useful, but I have little experience working with vector graphics files, and the script I used to help pull the project together was not designed to connect incontiguous areas. I did what I could with the tools I had, and erred on the side of being comprehensive, with the understanding (as I stated in my documentation) that the user should feel free to discard unwanted cards.

I will link my old card set to this new entry, as I'm sure the majority of users will find this collection more useful.
